Certification of translations: by a notary, by the translation agency

Baltijos vertimai UAB also provides certification of translations by a notary and by the translation agency.

Translation certification is certification that the text (usually an official document) was translated by a translation agency and the translator is aware of the legal responsibility for false translation. A translation certification service may be relevant to you for several reasons:

  • If certified translations are needed for a company’s internal and cooperation purposes
  • If documents have to be submitted to the institutions of the Republic of Lithuania
  • If you travel abroad, etc.

Translation can be certified with the stamps of a notary or the translation agency; therefore, it is sometimes also called notarial or office certification. The above-mentioned service is available remotely all over Lithuania: in Kaunas, Panevėžys, Alytus, Telšiai, Tauragė, etc., and in Vilnius and Klaipėda, where our translation agencies are based.

Should you have any further questions about translation certification or translation services, do not hesitate and get in touch with us through the contacts provided on the website.

Translation certification by a notary and with the stamps of the translation agency is available at the offices of Baltijos vertimai UAB. Contact us and receive an offer now.

Two translation certification options are available: translation certification with the stamps of the translation agency or by a notary. The institution to which the documents need to be submitted determines the right option. We recommend you find out the required type of certification beforehand – certification by the translation agency that is faster and cheaper is often enough!

  • Certification by the translation agency is charged per document.
  • Certification by a notaryis charged per document and the total price is set by adding up the price of certification by a notary and a service fee.
  • Certification of a copy of the documentis charged for the quantity of pages of a document and the total price is set by adding up the price of certification by a notary and a service fee.
  •
  • Translation text is fastened together with the original or its copy.
  • Stamps of the translation agency and the project manager-translator stamp with the contact details of Baltijos vertimai UAB and stamp stating the number of pages and the date are affixed on the reverse side of the last page.

Certification with the stamps of the translation agency testifies that the translator is aware of Article 325 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania stipulating responsibility for false translation.

  • Translation text is fastened together with the original document.
  • Translation text can be fastened with a copy of the document, which is also certified by the notary (if a copy of an identity card or passport is needed, then you will have to go to the notary’s office and sign).
  • The last page containing data about the translator and the notary is attached to the original and translation texts.
  • When a copy is needed, a notary’s stamp of ‘true copy’ is affixed on the copy of the original, and the document is registered in the notary’s register. Through this procedure, the notary certifies compliance of the copy with the presented document.
  • When certification by a notary is needed, the notary certifies the genuineness of the translator’s signature by affixing his/her signature and stamp (the translator certifies by affixing his/her signature that he/she is aware of Article 325 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania stipulating responsibility for false translation).
  • Full information, which is provided when certifying a translation with the stamps of the translation agency, is provided on the reverse side of the last page.
