Translation

We guarantee total quality of our services.

The texts we have translated are fluent, they use appropriate terminology and the meaning of the original is conveyed accurately. A native-language speaker reading our translation will not sense anything artificial about the text, which is what happens when they read poorly translated texts.

When you entrust your translation to us, you can be sure that you will receive a job well done. In our work we use the following quality control methods.

The text is translated by translators who know the field well.

In order to ensure that each text is translated by a translator who understands it properly, we train our translators as specialists in various fields (we give them texts to translate in these fields only and we assist in raising their qualifications through classes about specialised terminology):

  • law,
  • technology,
  • finances,
  • medicine,
  • politics,
  • advertising, etc.

That way we avoid distortions in the meaning of the text, since each field has its specific terminology. One translator can usually manage 4–5 special fields at most, whereas our translators limit themselves to 1–2 fields.

We use software that helps to ensure the consistency of translations.

To eliminate human error we use a variety of specialised software: Trados, Transit, and SDLX. These applications make it possible to maintain the consistency of terminology used in lengthy texts, which provides the client with a translated text that is fluent and consistent.

We hire only very good translators.

For us, work quality is more important than any possible ‘saving’ by hiring unqualified translators. When choosing our translators we impose strict quality requirements: specialisation, experience, personal qualities. At the present time 200 translators work for our agency. They have an average of 12 years of experience in translation (although some have as much as 30 years of experience).

We use the services of linguists to improve the style of language in the translation and fix any errors.

Before we deliver to you any text that has been translated into Lithuanian, we always give it to a Lithuanian language specialist for checking. The linguist fixes any errors of language usage, style and other errors. If you request it, we can give texts translated into other than Lithuanian language to a native language specialist for checking. That way we guarantee that the job we deliver to you will be a very well executed piece of work. We take care that our clients are satisfied with our work and recommend us to others.

We complete our assignments on time.

We try to offer clients a deadline that best meets their needs. We avoid being late in delivering by several means: we set realistic deadlines, we keep in touch with the translators and reviewers working on the assignment and if we find out about any possible delay, we re-assign the job, thereby guaranteeing that jobs are always done not just satisfactorily but on time.

You can watch the progress of your translation assignment on our system, and we deliver the translation to you by your preferred method.

You can watch the progress of your translation assignment on our order system, which is accessible via our Internet website (and the translated text is kept here all the time, in case you need it). The completed translation may be forwarded to you by whatever method is most convenient for you:

  • electronic mail;
  • fax;
  • post;
  • you can collect it yourself.

If required, translations can be certified by a notary or stamped with our agency’s seal.

The price of the translation and its deadline depend on its volume, its complexity, the urgency and the language.

One translator can normally translate up to 2,000 words per day, but we always accommodate your preference. The usual deadline can be made shorter or the work performed urgently (however, only if this does not affect the quality of the translation).

When the translation is into Lithuanian, our agency’s price includes one round of Lithuanian language proofreading, at no extra cost. The price of a translation is set having regard to:

  • volume – texts of more than 12,500 words are translated at a discounted rate;
  • complexity – special rates apply to complex and and highly specialised texts;
  • urgency – a higher rate applies to jobs of high urgency;
  • language – for ‘rare’ languages a higher rate applies than for ‘common’ languages.
